A Successful Global Investment Forum 2015
Last week, we held our first Global Investment Forum in Geneva, Switzerland — an event that brought together a distinguished blend of speakers, panelists and guests from diverse backgrounds to explore key themes driving private investments today.
Throughout the one-and-a-half-day event, we welcomed over 250 guests from around the world, including private investors, wealth and asset managers as well as our portfolio companies, each bringing unique experiences and perspectives. The first day focused on “A Decade of Ideas” and sought to identify the past and present developments across the industry through panels and breakout sessions that included some of the current thought leaders, such as William Conway Jr. from the Carlyle Group, Neil Rimer from Index Ventures, and Mustafa Abdel-Wadood from the Abraaj Group.
The following day centered around the topic of “A Future of Opportunities,” aimed at discovering some exciting trends and promising vision that will likely define tomorrow’s investment universe led by thought-leaders, including Thimon de Jong, entrepreneurs from some of our portfolio companies, like Pebble, Seventh Generation and Finally Lightbulbs, as well as investors active in frontier markets, such as Myanmar with Serge Pun from Serge Pun & Associates.
The event concluded with a relaxed poolside BBQ where we received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback, so much so that we have decided to make it an annual event.
